MPI FrameMaker templates are designed by an Adobe(R) Certified Expert. Optimal templates establish formatting consistency while preserving the most efficient document maintenance, always a top consideration. MPI's template design experience is highlighted here:
MPI designed a template for the USPS Domestic Mail Manual (DMM), which had previously been maintained in Interleaf software. The FrameMaker template facilitated maintenance of the DMM in an essentially identical page format, and supported output to traditional printing technologies as well as to PDF for on-line and CD-ROM distribution.
MPI designed a multi-file proposal template for CACI that provided concurrent accessibility for multiple editors. The template included simplified page and figure numbering, which improved referencing and graphics file control. The finished proposal was about 2,000 pages and contained over 300 graphics, many tabloid size. MPI worked on-site to support preparation of the proposal, which was completed and delivered on time.
MPI designed a FrameMaker template for Virginia Power to support initial use of FrameMaker at its Innsbrook Technical Center. This template adopted the page layout already established for administrative procedures and implemented many FrameMaker features, including appropriate master pages, paragraph tags with autonumbering, user-defined variables, and cross-reference formats.
MPI designed and implemented a FrameMaker template to enhance the appearance and maintainability of Virginia Power's Environmental Protection Manual. This template conformed to corporate literature standards for page layout and typeface usage, replacing earlier VAX WordPerfect versions that appeared typewritten.
MPI designed a template for and authored the original version of Virginia Power's Clover Power Station Oil Control Plan using FrameMaker. As part of this work, MPI also authored a document design basis and maintenance manual for future client reference to ensure a clear understanding of the template, and enable efficient, accurate revisions or reconfiguration of the Plan.
MPI designed a template to support conversion of technical procedures at Virginia Power's Surry Power Station into FrameMaker. This template included an unusual implementation of reference page frames to work around limitations of Framemaker.
MPI designed the template that formed the basis for a lighting products catalog on CD-ROM. The template supported complex hypertext navigation and included software-generated product indexes.
MPI designed the template used to implement a database-published version of Macmillan's The Baseball Encyclopedia. This template included numerous complex table layouts for the statistics that comprise the bulk of the book.
MPI helped the Senate of Virginia Clerk's staff design a template to produce the Virginia Senate Journal in FrameMaker.
